I'm using the original xbox wireless adaptor and borrowing the neighbors internet. the signal is usable, but for some reason every 40 seconds (almost exactly) the internet lags for 20 seconds, then goes back to normal, so its a 1 minute cycle.

i've noticed this in halo, because i'll lag out constantly throughout a game . anyone know the reason? the lag goes away once it gets later in the evening, so i guess that's when everyone else gets off the network.

(I'm borrowing internet because the wireless in the house is WPA encryption and the xbox adapter only covers WEP . I hear even if i get on the house internet i'll get kicked off anyway because my roommate has a 360 also, so i hate this place very much)

you are probably on the cusp of signal that is usable and just wouldnt notice it if you were on there web browsing

or you need to open up and forward some ports but you cant do that..(or you possibly can, if there is no/default password)
