he really deserved the prize. Regardless of your political opinion, this guy's a lot more scholarly than our current CMNDR IN CHIEF. It's a shame he didn't win

Kudos to Al Gore for being rich enough to develop a movie without being an actual environmental scientist.

C'mon, how is raising awareness about this issue even potentially a bad thing or fear-mongering? Say, for one moment, everything Gore/modern environmentalists think is false, all it boils down to is accepting responsibility for maintaining, preserving, and respecting the environment.
What it boils down to is teaching people to not be selfish, lazy pigs. If that's fear mongering, than we need more of it. 10/12/2007 10:55:04 PM

He's not raising awareness, he's making it seem like human influenced global warming is a fact when it is very widely debated. There is no concensus though he makes it seem like there is. He preaches about suv's and cutting power yet uses 20 times more electricity than the average american, has several houses that are too large for his needs, and drives gas guzzling SUV's. Actions speak louder than words and his actions show that he doesn't truly believe what he tries to force down our throats. He deserves the biggest douche in the universe award like that john edwards guy.

I LOVE how people call Bush stupid.
He got his B.S. from Yale and his MBA from Harvard. He got a degree from possibly the 2 best schools in the country. ![](images/rolleyes.gif) 10/12/2007 11:30:40 PM

Yes I agree with OP. I made the mistake of voting for Bush in 2004, but at least I can say I didn't make the same mistake again. Anyway, I hope climate change awareness becomes a permanent fad. It will help with a lot of things. 10/13/2007 11:58:33 AM

I would like to see someone more environmentally conscious running our country... I'm just not too sure about Al Gore. He could clean the place up, but I don't know how he would do with the war and all. But... the environment is more important.

He split it with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - a group of scientists affiliated with the United Nations. It is actually chaired by a NC State alumnus, Rajendra K. Pachauri, who has three graduate degrees from NC State.
Of course, you'll never hear anything about that in any local or national press because our Public Affairs staff is about as competent as a bunch of fucking retarded monkeys. 10/15/2007 12:32:21 AM
