BECAUSE IF THE CAMERA WERE ACCIDENTALLY LOWERED TO FIELD LEVEL, THE WIRES THAT IT IS ATTACHED TO WOULD FALL AS WELL, POSSIBLY SENDING A FOOTBALL OFF COURSE.
