Being that I got it from Amazon.com through a rewards site at work, will the Apple store replace it for me? I really wanted it for a road trip tomorrow. 10/23/2007 10:33:37 AM |

Try holding down the menu and the center button for 5 seconds and do a hard reset. Mine gets all screwy like that from time to time too. 10/23/2007 2:53:55 PM |

Apple will honor their 1 year warranties no matter where you bought it from. I bought an iPod from an individual reseller in Germany a couple years ago, and the Apple store here replaced the battery for me under warranty. 10/23/2007 3:07:21 PM |

do the reset
mine does that when i plug it in and its like an overload for the operation
try unplugging it, resetting it then pluggign it in again
also may help if the unit is on when you plug it in
but id still take it back after your trip or whatever
