I think some of them were started by people burning stuff that got out of control even though they werent suppose to burning due to the extreme fire danger. I know another was started by down power lines, i think one of the biggies.

^^^That's structures lost just on that one fire.

^^Arson/incendiary is very hard to prove.
You basically have to have witnesses that see the person holding the firing device and putting the fire onto the vegetation. That or pin it on them by running tests to see if the accelerant on their hands is the same that they used to set the fire and that they were in the exact location.

How do they know for certain that it was an arson fire? I was reading about that this morning and like all the fire dept ppl were like 100% that it was arson.....

I mean did some one see some a-hole dumping gallons of gasoline off the highway and then lit it on fire.......then proceed to do nothing about it until like half of California is burning down
