Coat all of the exposed flesh of the pumpkin with petroleum jelly immediately after carving, including a light coating of the entire inside of the pumpkin. The most important thing is to coat the design that you've carved. You can use a Q-tip to rub the petroleum jelly on all of the cut parts to make your creation last much longer." |

petroleum jelly will probably help with the mold too... it rained today and the fungi (which mold are) are going crazy.
take it in and put it in the fridge during the day
wait a little closer to halloween to make it 10/24/2007 10:57:28 PM |

The petroleum jelly would work if what you're describing is really mold. All molds are aerobic and the petroleum jelly would lock out oxygen. 10/24/2007 11:04:08 PM |
