From a forum at xtremesystems i thought i saw that this card was NOT DX10. Even so its still probably the best performance/dollar.

It doesn't support DX10.1. No one really knows how big a difference that'll make, but considering DX10 has yet to be fully utilized, I doubt it'll make a huge difference. This is essentially just a die shrink + clock speed bump over the previous nVidia 8 series cards. 10/25/2007 9:19:05 AM |

Ahh good catch. I was wondering why they made an 8800 card dx9.

a lot of places are selling out and there are rumors of limited quantity at launch. 10/29/2007 4:12:42 PM |

I bet, beats the older budget 8 series card for the same price. Although, I like my 8800 gts and its over a year old. I swore by now that they would be cheaper to where I'd just pick up a 2nd one for SLI... 10/29/2007 5:26:54 PM |

Think its worth getting a motherboard with an X38 chipset at this point? Im doing a new build (2.4 Quad, 4gb PC800, this card).
The motherboards that support this chipset are consistently $200+ than others. Im way behind in the tech scene, haven't built a computer in ages. 10/30/2007 12:02:34 AM |

now's really not a good time to buy, with all the new 45nm cpu's hitting the market and all the new chipsets and gfx cards coming out in the next 3-6 months then you'll want to buy.
seriously you'll wish you'd waited http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20071029-intels-45nm-penrynyorkfield-architecture-debuts-packing-a-serious-punch.html

Another review: http://www.tomsgames.com/us/2007/10/31/crysis_demo_impressions_optimization/
my favorite part:
Quote : | "Crysis. It's coming. It's upon you. It'll be here in just a few weeks. NVIDIA calls it "the most advanced video game ever created" and they just might be right. Crysis represents a new high set in gaming graphics with a quality that the "next gen" consoles cannot even begin to achieve. " |

very soft and somewhat blurry image, seems to glow and has really bad glare. doesn't look good imho, i like depth of field and focus'd images with only special effects like smoke and fire to be soft, not the entire picture.
