My car is a 99 Toyota Corolla with 97k miles. About one month ago there was a rubbing sound coming from the back right when the car is accelerating from a low speed. The first thing came to my mind was the tire got contact with the spring right above. So I had a mechanic check that. He said there was no problem. But today I heard the same rubbing sould coming from the back right of the car. Sounds like it still has something to do with the tire (or the axle?) because the frequency is along with the speed of the car. I really don't know much about car. Did I make myself clear? Is there any possible reason of this rubbing noise or how can I check if there's any problem? Thank you in advance! 10/28/2007 10:29:22 PM |

^check that and or feel around the tire and see if there is any un even surfaces or bulges in the tire. sometimes they will sound close to the same, depending on the severity of one or the other 10/28/2007 11:01:58 PM |

I went to Tommy's today and got the problem fixed. It's indeed something about the brake hardware and the bearings. Anyway the cost is 50 bucks, not that bad. Thank you guys! 10/29/2007 4:42:32 PM |

triple d rode in my car tonight and my car made the noise its been making lately
he said it was probably my wheel bearings cause my brakes are so new and it only does it when i'm gently braking from like 5mph
he said keith(69) could check/fix it pretty easy but i told him i doubt 69 would help me out
