This is crazy, mine is doing the same thing.

And I also just put a battery in it.

Still chirps.

try hitting the test button now that you replaced the battery. Oh, and make sure the new battery is good. You know. Lick test.

we have 4 smoke detectors and all of them do the same thing

we've had them unplugged for like a year because they'd all go off when we cooked

well, then, I'd check the A/C connection, then, to make sure that it is working.

Mine used to do this. I had to replace the batteries and then set them all off one by one by pushing the button. It got it to stop. However, once every 4-5 months the fucker goes off around 3 am.. So naturally you jump up and run around looking for the fire. They are mean SOBs. haha

no, check the A/C connection that is feeding the detector to make sure that it is giving it power

The ones at my old apt would not go off when the place was full of smoke but GG if you cooked a lil pizza in the oven shit would go off everytime.
