Why so glum about not getting married? In fact, why do you need someone else to be "happy?" Just don't worry about it. Do what I do and don't even try to bother with it. In fact, don't even try to have a boyfriend. Just stay single for the rest of your life. You'll have a lot more independence, you won't have to ever consider anyone else's needs or concerns, you won't ever have to share anything or take anyone else's shit, and best of all you'll be drama-free for as long as you're uninvolved with anyone.

If you're concerned because you want kids someday, there's always adoption. That or I'm sure you could go to a fertility clinic and take somebody's sperm donation or something.

That being said, miserable people looking for company will not find happiness. Those content as bethaleigh pointed out will find that happiness exponentially magnified by the right person. Pick the wrong person and you'll wind up worse off than when you were single.
