so the family is toying with the concept of taking a break from the massive holiday meal this year, and maybe going to a nice restaurant, nothing super swank, but not some hole-in-the-wall chineese restaurant, something along the lines Angus Barn perhaps. (I already checked, they're closed that day) 11/12/2007 5:38:01 PM |

i'm not opposed to the ethnic cuisine myself but i dont think it'd fly with the older relatives in the family. hopefully we'll find something along the lines of a steak house or seafood restaurant thats moderately nice. crowleys is the most promising prospect we have ATM, im gonna give them a ring in the morning to get the final verdict on their hours. 11/13/2007 10:43:22 PM |

Also, since I have worked at a couple of restaurants, I wouldn't eat out on Christmas Day simply out of principle. No one wants to be at work that day. If you're a doctor or a policeman then thats one thing. But no cook, waiter, or hostess should have to work on that day. 11/14/2007 3:28:47 AM |

True. The idea is you're looking for the cuisine of people who generally don't celebrate Christmas or don't celebrate it when American Christians do. Steak? Generally hard to get. General Tso's Chicken? Easy.
You could probably find an open deli.11/15/2007 8:45:30 AM |

I don't visit most businesses (restaurants, movie theaters, etc.) on Christmas. I wouldn't want to work on Christmas, so I try my best not to make other people work on Christmas either.
I'd make an exception if it was a small business and I knew Christmas had no meaning to the people working there. 11/15/2007 10:51:01 PM |

honestly people, thats the nature of retail and public service, you've gotta make yourself available when there's a need for your services. I did 7 years in retail myself, so I've worked more than m fair share of holidays. 11/18/2007 6:08:27 PM |
