Jesus Christ you people, hold on.
Quote : | "Q (played by John de Lancie) was a highly powerful entity from a race of immortal, godlike beings also known as the Q.
Q appeared to the crews of several Starfleet vessels and outposts during the 2360s and 2370s. He almost always appeared in the uniform of a Starfleet captain.
In every appearance he demonstrated superior capabilities, but also a mind-set that seemed quite unlike what Federation scientists expected for such a powerful being. He has been described, in turn, as "obnoxious," "interfering," and a "pest". However, underneath his acerbic attitude, there seemed to be a hidden agenda to Q's visits that seemed to have the best interests of Humanity at their core – although this opinion cannot be directly proven. On a planet called Brax, he was known as "The God of Lies"." |
Quote : | "The Douwd were a race made of pure energy, self-described as "immortal beings of disguises and false surroundings". They have the ability to create and destroy on an epic scale; they also maintain the ability to attack through psychic means. The Douwd appear to be nearly omnipotent, but not omniscient.
Only one individual from the Douwd race has been encountered, a being who referred to itself as Kevin Uxbridge while in Human form." |
Quote : | "Nagilum was a very powerful extra-dimensional creature, which created a "hole in space", utterly devoid of all matter and energy in the Morgana Quadrant. This was created, in part, as an experiment during its encounter with USS Enterprise-D, in 2365.
In the course of conversations with the creature, it called humans limited, apparently because they were mortal. It became increasingly interested in the concept of "death" and mercilessly killed the ship's conn officer, Ensign Haskell. Further intrigued, it decided to study this aspect of humanity on numerous levels, proposing to kill off a large portion, from one third to one half, of the ship's crew. " |
Quote : | "Thadiun Okona was captain of a small class-9 interplanetary cargo carrier, the Erstwhile. He was a charmer of women who were attracted to his roguish manner, quick wit and mischievous manner." |

maybe this would be a good thread for my question
I haven't watched any star trek. Any. No movies, no original series, no DS9. Nothing. I've been watching a ton of TV as of late, and I've been considering Star Trek, for some unknown reason.
What is worth watching, and what should I skip? I've heard DS9 is the best. TNG? The movies? 11/13/2007 10:40:14 AM

DS9 is pretty much the best
dont waste you time with Enterprise or Voyager
if you want to watch TNG, do it before DS9 because it provides a shitton of background 11/13/2007 10:43:14 AM

The cool think about DS9 was that the Pacers very own Reggie Miller played the part of a seedy Ferengi trader.
All Star Trek shows came across as sci-fi soap operas to me anyways. 11/13/2007 10:50:25 AM
