I have about 30 packs of expired ramen. I figure during a natural disaster it might be handy.

^^ I didn't either. I happened to notice the date while holding the styrofoam bowl it comes in. It has freeze dried meat in it, so maybe that's why it has an expiration date.

someone in pharmaceuticals told me that the expiration date on a lot of drugs is essentially arbitrary. it's just the point when they decided to stop testing it to see if it went bad because it eventually becomes inefficient to continue testing it.

i wouldn't be surprised if foods like dry ramen are similar.
