looking at a set. is $30 a good deal for them? used, but not sure how long.

some guy on craigslist.

do these things have hourly lifes, like other bulbs, or do they last for like 2 years and thats it?

trying to rig up high beams. need something brighter than normal cars

the bulbs are replaceable - had the same set for 3 years back in the day - no issues - main reason they'd get killed would be for rocks on highways imo - hope they come with covers

thats a good deal if they come w/ covers- have them on my xterra - been on for almost 3 years. They come on w/ my high beams- added an extra relay, of course! They are ridiculously bright!

hella 500s are what you are looking at, k

and 30 is less than half what they cost new at advance, but about all they are ever worth. plastic housings 55w lights are all they are. my brother has a pair he will sell i think, and I have a pair here at the shop

yeah, just 2 wire pos. and neg. You probably want to get a fuse and relay, lamps draw way too much current to go through just a switch.

There is a fog version and a driving version of the 500. I think the difference is just in the lens, but you probably want to make sure you get the driving light version.
