Took Warren's CH 201 final this morning and it was the hardest test I have ever taken in my entire life. Please tell me that everyone else thought it was insanely hard so that I don't have to drop out of school. I just hope I can pull a D. I doubt if I knew how to do 50% of what was on that test. RIDICULOUS.

A 71 on the first two tests was a C+ and a 71 on the third test was a B-. My guess is the curve is even bigger for the final than the third test. I doubt you have much to worry about if you had straight A's beforehand.

And as for it being the hardest test of your life, I agreee with you. I know he could probably point out that he got problem #x from webassign #a or test #c, question #f yadda yadda, but it's just an absolutley overwhelming amount of detailed information.

And yes, I took both of Novaks finals last year.

I had Warren for 201 back in 2003, I was 1 of maybe 10 students that consistently showed up to class every day. The first day (before people decided they didn't like him), almost every seat in that huge room in Dabney was filled. I studied my ass off for the final with a pretty good study group, pulled off a B on the final, got an A- in the class and forgot about it. I don't see why people bitch about Warren so much on here, you don't necessarily have to do awesome in the class, you just have to do better than most of the class which wasn't really that difficult.

seriously though, if it makes you feel any better, imo ch201 was the hardest of ch101, ch201, ch221 (orgo 1), ch223 (orgo 2), and bch451 (biochem).

that's not saying much though.

don't worry about it too much, it's already done and over with. And, don't be discouraged. You now know that next time you'll need to raise the bar a little bit. It doesn't mean that you're not cut out for it, either. This is just one class. Keep your chin up and try harder next semester. Don't let this define you.

in my time at State I made every fucking grade (A to F, and cr, au, r ) there was to make and I graduated, so dont worry about it. Warren got worse everytime i took his class but I did well in the online version. I just couldnt get down with his teaching style. The textbook was crap for me, I dont give a damn if wertz is a faculty member. Try a different professor next time, if you are a transfer studednt you might have a first year repeat option. your head wont explode if you flunk one class. especially if it was 201.


I funked Novak's class too, I slammed the final down on his desk, looked that boy in the eye and said "I'll see YOU in summer shool" and walked out, knowing that I had just failed the shit out of the entire class.

i had warren for ch 201 a number of years ago. i had a pretty bad recurrent illness that semester, and i went in to talk to him about it and he was a complete dick and disregarded all of my medical documentation. i know he reads this site so i hope he reads this

Bill Gates is brilliant, he excelled in science and math throughout school. He quit college not because he was doing poorly in classes, he quit because he had a vision and saw the future and profits in computing and saw that college was not how he was going to get in on the ground level of the revolution.

So don't even think of using that tired story as a cop-out to make you feel better about not doing so well in college.


That being said, ajmulvih, doing bad in one class your first semester here really isn't the end of the world either, it's just a taste of the level you're gonna want to step up to to excel in college here...

My favorite exams are the ones that you walk into well prepaired for, exchange blows with it for 3 hours, walk out litterally physically exhausted and just beat but knowing that you got pretty much everything exactly right... that's fun.

I am not sure what yall are talking about? I am in BLS and have taking all my classes except my second eng and history this includes bhc452, ch221, ch223. Im with ajmulvih, ch 201 sucked. Biochem was a bitch but I pulled out my A. I am fairly sure that I am going to get a B if not lower in 201. Maybe I was just lucky but I definately think ch201 was my hardest class at state.
