Can anyone recommend a reasonable place to get this done? I do not need anything performance - it's just a daily driver. I have done alot of work on my own on the Jeep just never any exhaust work. Could I save some money by doing it myself and just have someone weld it when done? 12/13/2007 12:35:03 PM |

There's a [insert]terribly overpriced[/insert] muffler back system
I'd say the local muffler shop could do you good for less than $200

since you don't have to pass emissions you can just cut the cat out, hollow it , put a straight pipe through it and weld it back in .

SO when we say "any local shop" are we referring to Midas? 12/13/2007 1:48:52 PM |

oh, I said that hoping some of the locals would chime in with the name of a reputable place (as I am not from raleigh)
Doing it yourself would be best, but if you dont have saw/grinder/welder/appropriate bends its not fun 12/13/2007 2:00:05 PM |

[Edited on December 13, 2007 at 9:18 PM. Reason : they did 2 other smaller exhaust repair jobs previously and been very fair on those too] 12/13/2007 9:16:46 PM |
