Can anyone recommend a new fan/heatsync combo that could potentially quiet my system down? The fan sounds like a jet on the run way getting ready for takeoff...
Problem is, the XPS200 has the small form factor case and a 1st gen Pentium D processor (a heat hog) so I'm going to need something to keep the temperature down that isn't large...
Recommendations?

Wow. They sure didn't waste any space. How is the air flow through that case?

^^ that's where a lot of the noise is (just air flow)... you can hear the fan crank up...

is it just a regular fan? Looks like a BTX design and I'd guess it's a blower, not a fan on that sucker. 12/15/2007 7:01:42 PM |

Your motherboard may support C2D's. I'd call dell to find out if you can upgrade, though.

The new small form PCs are shipping with the core duo, so this problem isn't there anymore for the newer machhines... unfortunatley, as I'm stating the obvious, can't exactly upgrade my processor.
^ I'll look into that. 12/16/2007 12:58:40 PM |
