Looking to get a decent futon or couch for fairly cheap and would prefer to have it delivered. Anyone know any good places in Raleigh for this? 12/28/2007 12:55:39 PM |

What do you consider cheap? I think I paid about $220 dollar bucks for a futon with an 8" innerspring mattress and a basic metal frame 12/28/2007 1:02:56 PM |

Up to ~200 or 250 is cheap, though I do prefer the 150 range, if it's not a tacky piece of crap. 12/28/2007 1:05:18 PM |

i got a nice, wooden (complete wooden frame; not just wooden arm rests w/ metal frame) futon off craigslist for $150. i posted in the wanted section of craigslist that i wanted a nice, wooden futon; not looking to spend over $200. i got a lot of replies. tons of people had them laying around in garages and bonus rooms. the guy i got mine from had it unassembled just laying around his house---so it had barely been used. he didn't really think $150 was that great of a price (since it cost over $400 new), but he wanted to get rid of it so badly he didn't care. i'd def post a want ad on craigslist. 12/28/2007 1:14:47 PM |

Big Lots - and if you can wait for a buzz club coupon it's 20 or 25% off. Heavner Furniture out on Glenwood has some nice stuff too at a fair discount. 12/28/2007 2:09:47 PM |

I second posting a wanted ad on Craigslist or even TWW.
I can attest to the fact that people have them sitting in bonus rooms and garages just taking up space because they're too nice to throw away and people are too lazy to find them a home. We have our run of the mill black metal college futon just chilling in our garage. 12/28/2007 6:06:45 PM |
