my government would brainwash the citizens to spend money(still keeping that capitalistic aspect) on shit that actually makes a country better....everywhere would be walmart with rock bottom prices...on stuff you need...would make everyone eat healthy too...my government would beat the shit out of any other government cause it knows whats best and looks out for its citizens...the rest of those governments are just about power and money but mine will be about living in peace and harmony and brainwashing....if the citizens were brainwashed everyone would like each other in my government and the world would be awesome...stuff like religion wouldnt really be needed anymore, cause people would just be good cause its the "common sense" and "logical" thing to do

your approach to capitalism is too idealistic. Someone needs to play referee. This is the only role I believe gov't should partake in our economy. Without any regulation many of the safeguards and policies that protect the avg citizen would not be in place.

Unless food production can continue to rise exponentially feeding an uneducated not birth controlling populace is a mere band aid. If you feed more then some of the people will not die of starvation and will make more babies who will face the same problem when food production can not keep up with a hyperbolic exploding population.

Technocracies are mediocre governments; they're basically bureaucracies on steroids. Think of them as a government of engineers: while they're great at handling individual problems down to great detail, as a whole, technocratic governments tend to lack the sort of unifying, overall policy vision that can make radical changes and handle large-scale, complex issues.

I don't like the idea of voting based simply on educational standards. I've met graduate students who have less political savvy and sense of the world compared with high school drop outs who've seen the world. While I like the idea in theory of some sort of public service to achieve franchise (think Heinlein), I am uneasy about such a system since it penalizes those who later in life may decide they want to go back and earn their franchise but are buried by their personal commitments.

The ideal government in my opinion is a benevolent, enlightened dictatorship run by an enlightened ruler and an educated supporting bureaucracy that would do what's best for the nation, not themselves or the short-sighted whims of the public. However, such a government will never work in the real world because a) there's no guarantee that a benevolent, enlightened dictator will stay that way and b) transition is always a mess, and you never know if the next dictator will be the same.

I'll stick with representative democracy for practical purposes. It may be dysfunctional, but at least you stand a better chance of removing the folks from power without having to take up arms.
