To avoid having to see them all, any suggestions?
Preferably one that is kinda free with the scripts so I don't have to get my specialist in NY to mail them down to me all the time. 1/9/2008 2:42:26 PM |

No tricks.
I don't want to get any crazy scripts, just not have them freak out when they hear what my specialist has me on. Nothing that good, a combo of supplements, an antibiotic, and some weekly injections. 1/9/2008 2:57:08 PM |

Are these painkillers? because none of student health is liberal with those 1/9/2008 3:35:58 PM |

lol, even if I was on a controlled substance would I admit to it on a college forum? No, but my specialist does have me on some experimental stuff and in my experience most student health docs are old skool enough that they'd freak out and bitch at me.
I gave up on vicodin. Makes me useless for a day, but the cramps only last a half day so it's quicker to just spend half a day in the fetal position. 1/9/2008 4:02:31 PM |

couldn't your specialist just write you a script for x number of months worth? gynos typically write bc scripts out for a year's worth. 1/9/2008 4:09:28 PM |

honestly, you are probably better off finding a speciallist here, or getting the scripts sent here (which i'm guessing won't be feasible for you (you are probably needing closer supervision)).
Student health is more like a bad general practisioner w/ a gyno office. They also like to stereotype college students. 1/9/2008 4:12:24 PM |

I'm on a thyroid pill that's dessicated pig thyroids (armour) instead of syn. and some docs have beef with that. the specialist doesn't deal with it so I have to get my refill scripts from student health.
Not having to lie to my GP about what I'm taking when I go in for something simple like an eye infection would be nice. 1/9/2008 4:13:26 PM |

Damn it, I knew I should have begged my doc at UNC to let me keep on going to SHS there. 1/9/2008 4:14:43 PM |

You can give it a go, and if it doesn't workout, go elsewhere. 1/9/2008 4:39:36 PM |

Dr. Vimmerstedt at UNC student health was the best. I think all other GPs are going to be a disappointment. 1/9/2008 4:55:45 PM |
