if they somehow won the lawsuit, i'm sure the money would be spent just like those $2,000 debit cards were used

In other news Enzyte got sued:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22575047/

Quote :
"The company claims Enzyte has 2 million users worldwide. Television ads for Enzyte feature “Smiling Bob,” a goofy, grinning man whose life gets much better after he uses the product.

According to an indictment, customers responding to free-trial offers were placed in an automatic shipping program, through which credit cards were billed without authorization. The company at various times offered full refunds, “double your money back,” and “triple your money back” guarantees that were false. [b]It also is accused of referring complaints to a director of customer care who did not exist.[b]"

I hear the person wanting 3 quadrillion dollars first asked for a unicorn but settled for the money.

i don't see why people think they are entitled to more than the cost of damages+out of work pay. Crying a fucking river will only make flooding worse.

^well most people are lazy and out for a quick buck. I dont fault them as much as the fucking lawyer who filed this. That asshole is supposed to be a professional. He should be forced to pay for the defense for this BS.

Honestly, I can't blame them for wanting vengeance on the Federal government for the fine job they did post-Katrina. However, this sort of amount just saps any real sympathy you may have. Besides, they should sue the state of Louisiana as well: the state government deserves a good share of the blame as well for their gross incompetence.

i don't assign NEARLY as much blame to the federal gov't on this matter as most do, for a variety of reasons...most of which center around a lot of it not really being their problem to begin with.

Yeah, that's why you turn around and walk away when you see that a "free trial" requires a credit card number.

I feel bad for those people but give it a rest already.

You live below sea-level, surrounded on three sides by major bodies of water. Everyone knew that a huge hurricane was approaching....most choose to stay and 'ride it out' and some paid a terrible price for it.

Did the government do a great job, at any level (local or national)?...probably not. Did a lot of those people take reasonable responsibility for their own safety?...probably not.

Since when can a person sue due to an 'act of God?'
