i read last week on some digg article/blog/whatever that it was pre-released to developers or something to that effect, and it would be out to us civilians around the end of the month. it's gonna be around 350MBs from what i remember reading. hopefully they'll fix a lot of shit. 1/16/2008 12:12:32 PM |

If you don't mind me asking - what is buggy for you? All of my issues were fixed with the first update. 1/16/2008 12:13:51 PM |

my bluetooth devices (keyboard and mouse) randomly dissociate and i have to disable bluetooth, turn off the mouse and/or keyboard, re-enable bluetooth, and turn the mouse/keyboard back on
wireless with 802.1x PEAP and EAPfast drop off every 10 minutes. when i'm at work, it's not even usable.
mail.app started doing this thing where sometimes the preview pane stops working, and i have to kill it and relaunch.
MSoffice 2004 works sometimes. if i launch excel, ppt, word it will either open whatever doc i want to read/edit, or it might decide that i need to go through the installation wizard again, which if i click any of the buttons, the app just freezes and i have to force quit it. Only workaround is to restart the machine, and it's good for opening maybe three docs before i have to do it all over again.
these are just the most pervasive/annoying ones, but there have been plenty of one-off issues that required relaunching an app, or restarting my machine. All of it started after installing leopard (and I did a clean install). 1/16/2008 12:22:10 PM |

Now that you mention it, I have had the issue of my bluetooth keyboard and mouse getting really slow and sluggish but never to the point to where I have had to reconnect. 1/16/2008 12:26:04 PM |

so I hacked my appletv, but 1ghz 2mb 400mhz fsb p-M, 256mb ram, and 64mb go7400 still cannot play back x264 mkv's well. not sure if I'm gonna keep it or sell it. I was looking for something better than my original xbox + xbmc, looks like I'm looking elsewhere 1/23/2008 2:37:47 AM |

the heck are you guys doing to Leopard... dang near flawless over here? bluetooth was perfect for the small time i used it with a new wireless keyboard; wireless is worlds better than 10.4, never drops on my mbp... wireless logitech vx revolution is a dream, so are all the misc. usb devices i use all the time... what else crashes/is buggy for you? Mail should be just fine unless you mess with it. as for msoffice... well i can't help ya there, that's between M$ and Apple, though I've heard rough things... anything office-related i just use NeoOffice, rocks for the most part

my guess is that they don't do a lot of regression testing on G4 platforms.
most people I know on the new intel machines have few to no problems. 1/23/2008 8:46:29 AM |

that's your problem, though for laptops, you're right, those get replaced much less and thus the hardware is typically older on average. (that and they never got the g5 into a powerbook, g4 had a wide operating life 01-06) and they should have done more testing on them.1/23/2008 9:08:43 AM |

heh, i'd widen that operating life to '08. my powerbook G4 is still going strong!
at least it was until leopard. if 10.5.2 doesn't make life easier, i'm going back to tiger. 1/23/2008 9:32:01 AM |

i'd go back if you're on old hardware. i wouldn't put vista on a 5+ year old machine either. that changes everything 1/23/2008 11:04:21 AM |
