i finished my second batch recently...the first batch i made came out like champagne, which was crazy...also, it varied in taste from bottle to bottle (i don't yet know why)the second batch is a lot more like traditional mead, and i really like it

^ i've had chaucer's (cheap stuff, you can find it in a lot of places...you can also duplicate the taste by buying a cheap bottle of carlo rossi rhine and heating it up in a microwave )i've also had another brand, the name of which i cannot remember...it was pretty good...it comes in a stout blue-glass grolsch-style bottle (i tried a quick google search and can't find it quickly...i'll check when i get home)[Edited on December 22, 2008 at 3:38 PM. Reason : BLUE GLASS GROLSCH BOTTLE]

If you're ever in South Africa try Leopard Beer, the drink of the poor. It's not exactly mead cause I think it's made from cassava, but that shit is chunky, milky booze that was uniquely disgusting.
