my parents have been looking into franchising a baja burrito.

shit is ridiculous though. gotta have like 2million in assets with 200k in cash and have some experience in the restaurant business.

50k just for the name and help set up... but buying all the shit is like 100k

I agree on most counts. Mole Chicken >>> plain grilled chicken, plus they have hot sauce.

However, the Chicken Club burrito from Moe's (bascially a standard chicken burrito, but with bacon and southwest ranch sauce) is most delicious. It can stand up with the ones from Baja on flavor.

Also Moe's has free salsa whereas Baja charges $.50 for theirs.

Overall Baja still wins but sometimes I go to Moe's to change it up.

I've seen the consensus about Baja here before--and I must've agreed. I've always eaten there.

I've been living in Raleigh for about eight years and last week was the first time I tried Moe's in CV--I just never saw the need before. Moe's let me down--I'm going back to Baja. And I'll never stray again.

you have your choice of brown or saffron rice....black or pinto beans....steak, chicken, or lamb (I think). Then they steam the tortilla.....load it up...and you choose all of your fixins....

I have 1 mor burrito stamp to get on my little card before I get a free one!!1
haha, I only needed like 7 in the first place.

Chipotle is owned by McDonald's? That's kind of a letdown. It was controlled by McDonald's but they have since divested all their holdings in Chipotle.

Oh well. Until there's one around here I won't worry about it, though I do like to go there when I'm in Greensboro...

Am I the only one here that has a, well, violent reaction to black beans? As the old saying goes, I love them--but they don't love me. Now I always order pintos.

I'm sure you're not the only one. But you're probably the only person that's willing to admit it. I commend your bravery.

myself? No, I love black beans. They taste great, and they don't make me poot uncontrollably. Also, they don't make my asshole leak a mysterious brown fluid.

when it comes to bodily functions that are essential to maintaining life, like farting and burping, i say you should just enjoy it as much as possible, because you're going to do it no matter what!

this is not to mean that one needs to be indiscreet to enjoy it, stinking up the gentlemen's room is still fun i'm sure!

Chipotle is waaaaay better than Moe's, Baja Burrito, and Qdoba. There are several in the area now. As someone mentioned, there's one on Wake Forest Rd up in N Raleigh, but there's also one on Glenwood out near Duraleigh (next to Neo-China in the same shopping center as the Wal-Mart on Glenwood), and a brand new one just opened up this weekend in Cary--it's on Kildaire Farm, right near Hibernian and Goodberry's.

I first discovered Chipotle while I was living in Houston for the last two years, and was excited that they have them up here too when I moved back. Although now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure the one on Glenwood has been around for 4-5 years at least, I just never ate there when I lived in the area previously.

Chipotle really cares about having quality ingredients, and that's what makes the burritos so damn good. They use a lot of organic, all-natural ingredients and touchy-feely sourcing for their meats (free-range chicken, no bovine growth hormone for their beef, etc), but it's really not any more expensive than what a similar burrito costs at the other places. It's good stuff.

when she took it up to the cashier, the lady said "what do you want me to do about it?"

i agree with that. the Moe's in Cameron Village almost turned me off of Moe's forever. I had two or three terrible meals there (undercooked meat, unfresh food, bad beans, etc), but now I go to the Moe's in Cary almost weekly and it's always been good

Out of all the burrito places I think Moe's is the worst. I've only ever been to the one off Harrison, so I can only imagine how bad the one in Cameron Village is. Their burrito was almost flavorless, and they had a ton of salt in their cheese.

Baja Burrito > Chipotle Grill > Qdoba=Salsa Fresh=Salsaritas > Moe's

Quote :
"Also Moe's has free salsa whereas Baja charges $.50 for theirs."

IIRC Baja has free chips that come with the burrito where Moe's and just about every other place charges extra for them.

^They just opened one off Kildaire... today if I'm not mistaken.

V yeah, I went about a year ago. It sucked so much I never went back, and like the first I in IIRC implies...

Moe's CV is def not representative of what Moe's is supposed to be. They are the worst location in the area. I worked for Moe's (not the one in CV) for 2 years and helped open the one on Harrison Ave. as well as the one in Brier Creek. I've been to the CV location a couple times and its just horrible compared to every other location I've been to. I believe there's one open off of Walnut St. now where the Ale House past Crossroads. If you live near NC State at least try that one (I've never been but its gotta be better than CV and closer than Harrison).

Chipotle FTW

I used to go to Qdoba all the time, then I tried Chipotle, and I just cannot eat a burrito from anywhere else anymore.

Nothing comes close.

Plus, I crave their guacamole like nobody's business.
