Well, McCain and Romney may be heading for a "tie" of sorts tonight, although ties do not matter supposedly cause Florida's system is setup as a "winner take all" state in delegates.

I don't know if Republicans will accept that or not. If McCain wins tonight by a significant enough margin, I think he'll get more wins than Romney. I think Super Tuesday is just too big for Romney's money to make that much of a difference everywhere.

Democrats...I've learned that what I want usually loses. I have this sneaking suspicion that Hillary is going to pull it out some way, somehow.

McCain is no moderate. He is VERY far to the right, just not on social issues. If you thought the Bush Administration was a little bit too friendly with big business, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Plus the thought of John McCain with the launch codes scares me a bit.


It's a sign of how partisan things have become when someone doesn't adhere strictly to the party-line, and occasionally works on bipartisan initiatives is quick to get the moderate label.

At least he was one of the few Congressional Republicans to agree torture is a bad idea...

Meh, you're electing a leader, not a know-it-all. I want someone who can find the best and the brightest, make an educated decision, and rally people behind that idea to achieve a goal . . . so yes, likeability, or at least respect / trust is HUGE in a Presidential candidate.

Compared to, sayyyy, Romney? I mean if an anti-business platform is your goal you should vote for Huckabee or maybe Paul (the latter simply because he doesn't believe in government benefits for business). So of the two real contenders, McCain is the less disturbing on that issue. Obama and HRC won't be far behind truthfully, your candidate dropped out today.

well, for a president character does matter. they are the face of the country and they also SHOULD be the chief negotiator of opposing sides in regards to important legislation. i know we haven't seen much of this recently, but it's a role that a good president should fill.

I wouldn't say he is less disturbing than Romney on that issue. Romney actually seems to have a better grasp of the economy and of the delicate interplay between regulation, negotiation, and markets than McCain. In fact, Romney had a decent record as governor, but I can't figure out which Romney would be the one we would see in the White House. I'm just saying that McCain gets a free pass on the "moderate" tag when he he is only less conservative on the social issues, which seems to be all the media is interested in covering/sensationalizing. I guess you can't be a real conservative if Rush doesn't love you.

Honestly, he is running on his foreign policy credentials, when his war mongering when combined with his "loose cannon" damn the consequences nature and age scares the hell out of me.
