first game is home at the Home Depot Center tomorrow

Cervi was drafted by the Chicago Fire, I think and opted to try and find a team in Europe. I think Celtic is/was close to signing him

Goltv is showing 2 live CONCACAF WCQ today.

Hati vs Netherlands Antilles at 4:00pm eastern

Jamaica vs Bahamas 7:00pm eastern

This is pretty cool because I like being able to see different teams play and am always interested in what happens in CONCACAF since the USA plays in that region.

Costa Rica are just being made to sweat, but they'll go through. No way Grenada beats them at Saprissa.

That is just what we needed! Some of the other big names in CONCACAF have to be second guessing themselves right now.

^I have no clue.

Halftime: Jamaica 3 Bahamas 0. The Bahamas has a bunch of college players from the USA playing for them. They just said one of them plays at App. State. This game is just as bad as the USA game today. Who ever said soccer is boring because there isn't enough scoring doesn't know what they are talking about.

FIFA WCQ score board.

http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries/matches/index.html

I'm not sure if it is a final, but the score board says Bermuda 2 T&T 1. That would be a big let down after tying Sweden at the 2006 World Cup.

Bermuda did win 2-1 tonight over T&T. The winner of that series will play the USA at Dicks Sports Park in our second game of the simi-final round.

Jamaica 7 Bahamas 0. They actually did take a shot on Jamaica that went wide.

^LMAO! He did almost score against Spain which is a good sign. I still think in the end someone else needs to take his spot in the starting lineup.

Who knows? Maybe this is the beginning of a very good 2 year streak for Johnson where he gets hot through qualifying and gets his confidence up enough to start playing for Fulham just in time to become a superstar and win the Golden Boot at the 2010 World Cup, revealing himself as one of the greatest players of our time...

yep. in all honesty there was nothing to really take from that game besides the realization of how bad Barbados really is. it was fun to see us score, but im not putting much stock in it yet.

i'm thinking maybe the Islands should pool their players so they actually have a fighting chance. they do it in Cricket under the "West Indies" banner.

^^ yea haha. he blew SEVERAL other chances. I mean a decent goal scorcer would have had 5+ goals given the chances ching had against that team it seemed like.

^^I don't think they should do that. They have the Carribean Cup and the top 4 teams go to the CONCACAF Gold Cup, so they still have a chance to do something special.

Jamaica 7 Bahamas 0

They said Bahamas had a players who plays at App. State. I don't know who it is though because I couldn't find a matching name on either roster. They also had players who play at Hofstra and Yale.

1-0 USA at the half over Barbados. Eddie Lewis scored. No worries, it's a B squad and Beasley is the lone striker.

Our B squad is pretty fucking pathetic. Barbados is horrible...and that should have been a gole for Barbados...no offsides I believe.

^He was offsides. It was clear on the replay. It just shows how different we are when Donovan doesn't play. Adu hasn't looked as good as he did vs Spain. It's hard to tell how good we are from this game. This was one of those times where the players have a hard time getting up for the game, so they play like crap.

I'm watching Panama on http://www.justin.tv right now. What did Costa Rica do to get a cake walk to the final group? Group B should be split up and sent to Group C.

^ Went through the Group of Death for 2006. They had to go through Canada, Honduras, and Guatemala.

Seriously, the way they rank it is 1-3 in world rankings in one pot (USA, Mexico, Costa Rica), 4-6 in the second pot (Panama, Trinidad & Tobago, Honduras), 7-12 in the third pot (Canada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica)

Each group takes 1 team from the first pot, one from the second, and two from the third. Obviously the luck of the draws shows that one group could get Canada and Jamaica and another could get Guyana and Haiti.

2009 FIFA Confederations Cup

South Africa (host)
Italy (World Cup Champion)
Brazil (CONMEBOL)
USA (CONCACAF)
Iraq (AFC)
Egypt (CAF)
TBA (UEFA)
TBA (OFC)

We could end up in a group with maybe Brazil and either Italy, or Germany. I'm guessing they will look like something close to this.

Brazil
Germany
USA
Egypt

Italy
South Africa
Iraq
New Zealand

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EL SALVADOR SCORED 3 GOALS IN LESS THAN 30 MINUTES TO WIN THE SERIES 3-2!!!!!!!!!!!! espn deportes says the goals were in the 70th, 82nd, and 89th minute. A 2-2 tie would have sent Panama to the next round. I can see El Salvador getting to the hex now!

I shut the game off because the feed was crappy and I wanted to watch the last few innings of the Fresno State vs UNC baseball game.

Group A

USA
Guatemala
Cuba
Trinidad & Tobago

Group B

Mexico
Jamaica
Honduras
Canada

Group C

Costa Rica
Suriname
Haiti
El Salvador
