I dunno if Honda does the same as Yamaha, but I can get a PDF of the owner's manual for my R6 at Yamaha's web site. Your might want to see if something like that is available for yours.

Hahaha, I guess I could fight you if I were angry about something. At the moment I really feel no need to fight.

I can't stop someone from forcing me into self defense obviously, but I'm not going to fight your sorry ass over you being mad that I've kept this bike for a year. Who the fuck cares? It's not yours, so you don't have to worry about it. Plus, if this bike really does suck so badly and really is such a waste of time to own, then why do you focus on it so much?

Why not focus on the much cooler, far less powerful scooters that you ride?

put some bar-end mirrors and a new front brake lever on my SV today. also adjusted brake and clutch levers so they have no slack and don't wobble...I'd just kinda gotten used to them before, but they're way better now.

man it drives me nuts when the clutch and front brake levers are adjusted that tight for some reason. i guess all the years of dirtbikes and never adjusting them got me used to it i always set the front brake to be the closest adjustment there is and the clutch as lose as i reasonably can do

i just took all the slack out of the clutch cable, so it starts to disengage as soon as you start pulling it in. I set the front brake lever as close as I can while still being able to apply maximum braking pressure without my finger(s) getting in the way (with 2 or 3 finger braking).

The other thing I did was tighten the pinch bolts down so that the levers don't wobble up and down (well, very little, anyway).

I wish I could get my levers to stop wobbling, but when I tighten it up enough to be solid, it has so much friction that it won't snap back. It's annoying.

^Sounds like the levers are getting pinched on one side. You could use some teflon, brass, or stainless, or aluminum shims to tighten up the wobble.

I think you're supposed to leave a few mm of free play in the clutch lever so the clutch is fully engaged when the lever is out and wears less. At least I know there was a parameter on my dirt bike.

so today I started finishing my track bike. it's a 2002 f4i. I removed all the decals on the various paint scheme body pieces I have and started sanding. I have 2 pieces primered. When it's all done, the upper, tank, and lower fairings will be neon orange with a black honda wing going up the sides into the tank. The tail will either stay black (like the old f3 paint) or will be neon orange as well.

Did a nice run on up to the rev limiter in 3rd gear a few minutes ago.

It's pullin' like a beast in these temps.

He took the slack out of the clutch cable. That part is rather simple, so I hope you got it.

The next part is still rather simple though:

This had the effect of making the clutch begin to disengage as soon as you begin pulling on the clutch lever. So, the clutch lever does not have a "null zone" anymore.

Of course, had I said it, people would have been shitting themselves and screaming about how I had somehow claimed some ridiculous bullshit. But most people get it when I say stuff, regardless of whether or not they go crazy, and I think most people got what he meant by that.

I understand what he did, I just don't understand why he did it. I was under the impression that the factory recommended slack at the lever was a good thing if you liked your clutch.

Obviously!

My clutch cable snapped on the way home from work a couple of weeks ago. I was fine until I came to a stop sign.

What was this on son?

I haven't felt the need to fuck with my clutch son. The shit works well for me in the current configuration. I liked the one on my 2007 SV-650S just fine as well honestly.

God I remember how worthless the Buell Blast I rode for the MSF course was though. That thing had some of the worst controls I've ever experienced. The throttle felt awful, the brakes felt awful, the clutch felt awful, the gearbox felt awful, neutral wasn't particularly easy to get into, even the foot pegs managed to feel shitty and uncomfortable. The single cylinder engine was incredibly weak and produced extreme levels of vibration (Far beyond "excessive" IMO) at any rpm above idle really. I can't imagine ever buying any kind of Buell after spending a reasonable amount of time with a blast. If I want a sporty bike with less than 4 cylinders, I'm simply going elsewhere (Specifically a v-twin like the SV-650 or Ducati Streetfighter S, I might snag a 3-cyl Triumph though ).

It was on the CB750F I posted a while back. The cable was crap and had apparently been slowly dissolving at the lever for quite a while, unbeknownst to me. After it snapped I managed to upshift and downshift a few times before deciding it would be good for my transmission to just pull over. Replacing it was about the easiest thing ever, though.

Welps I made about 100.00 off of your duct taped piece of shit jacket.... As far as your shitty ass helmet, I still have the mother fucker and I am about to sell it for 50.00!

And since you're gonna be an asshole about it, I'll leave the helmet outside of my old townhouse... You might want to check to see if your jacket is still there...

I always thought you were a nice guy. First off... I still have your fucking helmet... Second, you dropped your damn shit off at my house and never came back to get it. I have been here the whole time telling you to come get your shit. Ohh yeah you went to Florida so it wasn't like I could like hand you your helmet. I don't have your number and I don't know where the hell you are. So try and call my ass out on the wolfweb and call me a bitch because you aren't responsible enough to keep up with your own damn shit. Seriously, your jacket and the whole box of God knows what the hell that junk was was at my house in the same damn spot where you left it until I moved out. And not once did you attempt to come and get it. And I highly doubt that piece of shit of a jacket cost more than 100.00 especially when you left it all taped up with duct tape. And you know, I have lost, had stolen, shit went missing with a lot of my shit and I don't cry like a little girl about it. Its fucking stuff not even worth trying to make someone feel bad over. Seriously, get over yourself and if you want you damn helmet back make some attempt to contact me and not whine about it on the internets you jerkoff. Damn you people never cease to amaze me with your drama and your bullshit... "

Hey Ed!
I have your helmet... I haven't been able to locate your jacket though. When I get a job and some money, I can send you how ever much it is worth. I am sorry. Let me know when you will be in town. I may just leave your helmet with Jamie (Ryans girl) and she can give it to you. I may be up in Maryland with my new job. Just let me know what you want to do.

Jillene

I never contacted you, right? Fucking cunt.
