The vet clinic I work for is looking for a new website provider. No one here is too experienced with website maintenance as most of the expertise we aim for is more in the medical arena. I figured you guys though might have some good suggestions on companies or groups to work with who could meet our needs.
We are looking for a company we can submit information to, our logo to, pictures, color design ideas, an online news letter, and continue providing most of the services our current website offers. They may be redoing the color theme of the clinic and may decide they want the website to match so we'd need a company that’s flexible and can provide changes as needed.
Our website is currently maintained for free by vetcentric which is a prescription drug company (that has vets working for them & guarantee their products unlike most such as petmeds.com), but being free its not that great and very limited in its ability to change. They flat out told us no we can't change from your old logo from like 5 years ago. Obviously we want to stay within a reasonable budget, but are open to any ideas and suggestions.
Even a small message board to let our customers post about animal related events, and provided feedback on their visits would be nice.
Does anyone have any experience with a group they'd recommend?

I worked at http://onwired.com/ for several months and I'd say they do a pretty good job. They are located in Cary which is nice. They seem to be doing pretty well as the last time I called they had hired some more people. Good people, good prices, and very professional. I would recommend giving them a call.

Cool, I'll review these sites, and see whats what. I posted this at work during the middle of a meeting, am home for about 5 minutes, then off to the neal for senate campaign for most of the evening, and back to work at 7 am tomorrow morning so it might be a few days before I have a serious response, but I do appreciate any and all feedback.
And since I'm rather new to this, what kind of output should I expect for what kind of price?
Good customer service is a must too.
Thanks! 1/31/2008 1:47:12 PM |

Quote : | "If we're talking about design and HTML only — whether it's redesigning an existing site or starting from scratch — we typically start around $7,500 and go up from there. To an extent, it depends on how much time you want us to spend doing a competitive analysis, wireframes, and the design itself. We can do simple, professional designs fairly quickly, but we've been known to spend 120 hours or more just on the design itself for a client with discriminating taste." |

This site probably gets 10 hits a day, probably not going to dish out $7,500.00 2/1/2008 5:25:48 PM |

damn I was just browsing around there the other week and they started at $6,000...inflation is a bitch.
I don't think I'd ever try to get away with charging a client 6 grand just for a simple design. 2/1/2008 11:17:40 PM |
