Pics coming later today! Anything for you danmangt40 (and my other fans!) [no homo]

So you want pics of the Chicago unveiling, or Dodge's official shots of the car in the wild? Also, 800 pixels wide, 1024 wide, or 1280 wide?

BTW, y'all know the first one sold for $400,000 a couple of weeks back, right?
http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080123.001/2008-dodge-challenger-srt8-job-1-sells-for-400,000

Till I come back a few hours later, I leave you with this:

A video:

1) If that's what I am doing, why is the picture above only 800 wide?
2) I asked, didn't I? Did that question of mine in my post above read like a joke?
3) Show me any 1280 wide picture I have posted in the past few several months.

Also, 800 pixels wide, 1024 wide, or 1280 wide?

I don't think I've ever lusted so hard for such a heavy car with such an underwhelming interior...

Youre kidding me.

14 seconds, with that many foot lbs?

How can they afford to keep engineering these shitty cars?

it's a 4.9 and ~13.3 according to dodge.

stock SRT8 cars have been able to get into the high 12s with the right conditions. The 09 with the 6 speed should knock a good bit of time off as well.

^^I'm sure you'll be able to get MyGig

^durr is right. I disagree with all of that except MAYBE the interior. I see a lot of shitty interiors going around these days. Apart from Mazda, Mini, Audi, BMW, Acura, and Maybe Honda.... most car interiors are the pits today unless you're spending big bucks. At the very least, this interior looks to be "par" with other LXs. I'm sure that to prove your point you'd whip out some numbers for Evo, Sti, etc. Please. Appealing as this car is, it's a niche vehicle on a MUCH larger and expensive platform. They didn't have the ideal platform to start with and this ought to be considered merely a sexier LX. And at that, I'd say it has the market all to itself in the low-to-mid 30s. The srt8 this year is just window dressing. The meat of the challenger sales are going to be R/Ts with manuals next year.

Quinn... As for the 14 second 1/4 mi, I'm pretty sure these are very conservative numbers. But not looking good? c'mon now. Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but you are apparently looking from a place where nobody else is standing. This is just.... badass.

Sign me up...I wish. Monthly payments with nothing down would be insane, not going to pay $700/mo for 5 years for a car loan. In a few years though! In a few years...

WTF straight dashboard though. Reminds me of the dash in my Marauder, which debuted in the '97 Crown Vic. The SRT seats should be nice if they're anything like the ones in the SRT-8 300C, but that dash is both bland and ugly. Individually hooded gauges are nice but the rest rather sucks. They should hire the design team that did the new Malibu's interior...

Does anyone else find it ironic that it *wasn't* OEPII1 who made it a side-scroller for once?

Damn... what a color!

Dodge Challenger #43 Auction Started

Special color 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 #43 is being auctioned off to the Highest bidder, whose bid now sits at USD55,000.

Quote :
"A bidding war has begun on eBay where the big prize is a 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT-8. While this in itself may not sound too exciting, the goose bumps come in when you hear that of all the Challengers about to flood the market, only one will be dressed in B5 Blue, the colour in which some of the original 1970 models came in.

An entire package of goodies awaits the winning bidder, whose money will proceed to the Victory Junction Gang which is an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children with chronic illnesses. There are VIP passes into the Dodge Challenger 500 NASCAR race at the Darlington Raceway in South Carolina, return flights and accommodation for two in addition. Plus you get to meet Kyle Petty who founded Victory Junction Gang."

You have to like this car for what it is. I could careless if it came in 318 with sub 200hp. You buy this car for exterior. 20" wheels are gay and narrow. Some wide 18" or 19" would be a much better choice.

I haven't heard that the other LX cars are having traction problems or any wheel hop, so I wouldn't expect this to, either. It's not a GM car so it's diff won't explode, either.
