I just spilled some boiling water on one of my hands...I immediately put it under really cold sink water and I've since held some ice on it...doesn't look or feel that bad, should I get any kind of blistering or did I get to it fast enough? My stove is right by my sink so I got to it pretty fast

it doesnt hurt, i just want to minimize risks of blisters, etc

lukewarm water is less likely to cause blisters than very cold water--so i hear

^^^i'd prefer to prevent them so as to not limit the ability of my hands over the rest of the work week

you won't get any blistering, or at least anything worth mentioning. i've burnt my hand/fingers on a greased up oven when cooking for fast food, got really good/big blisters on my fingers that showed up pretty much immediately. i was told that putting mustard on burns right away helps with blistering, but I don't know why.

The fluid in a blister is not pus. It is a combination of lymphatic fluid, electrolytes from damaged cells and cellular debris. While not toxic in and of itself, it may contain anything your body does; i.e. If you have Hepatitis B, Hep C, or HIV it is possible that these viruses may well lurk in these fluids as well. Otherwise, an open blister that has or is leaking fluid should be considered as any other body fluid.

you can stop blisters with ice. and you can stop blood blisters by slapping around the blister to disperse the blood.
