I don't understand why people gather and argue with these individuals - essentially doing the same thing the religious "nuts" are doing: attempting to change to views and beliefs of someone who is clearly unwilling to change. There's a disagreement, clearly, just carry on with your day and let the preachers' words fall on no ears.

The way it plays out is, quite literally, "feeding the troll" at its purest form.

Yeah, except I can correct his doctrine because he misuses scripture. And not many people actually debate these guys on scripture. That is not to say that they are all spreading bad doctrine, but some of them I really disagree with. I especially disagree with their methods.

Yeah, they'd be in a large deal of trouble if they tried to pass absolute judgment on me.

I always enjoyed watching when this did happen. It would get the preachers much more riled up than the freshman antics. I remember there used to be a guy that would come with his Bible and they'd have scripture wars.

Well, I wouldn't go that far, unless you'd like to share their hypocrisy. It's just that, they generally go around telling everyone they are going to hell. What if they tell a saint they are going to hell? God's not going to be to happy about that. Not to mention specific call throughout the Bible to guide and not judge. One of the main issues when people begin to denounce others behaviors as opposed to explaining the issues themselves is they become prideful. They want to say, look at how I am like God and can pass judgment, except their judgment is neither perfect or just.

Well part of leading people to Christ is a call to repentance. Now, there methods are a poor means of leading anyone to penance. Not to mention there is no such thing as clergy, and those who say otherwise are mistaken. You have the equal power and authority to spread the Word that all saints share together.

I don't think their actions qualify as blasphemy, as the two types of blasphemy are claiming to be God or claiming to have the power to forgive sins.
