The picture in your link shows the gear down.

My bet is that they had trouble retracting it or they had a tire blow on take off. It took off from Palm Beach so it had to be something that was made evident early in the flight.

Turned out fine.

They always taught me to hold the nose up as long as possible when landing on questionable nose gear like that. Great job.
