That thing's way too big. You can get a SATA internal and spare the crazy amount of desk space that would take up. It's like having a Shuttle computer just chillin' on your desk doing nothing.

lol, some people like keeping their backup at a separate physical location.

Heck, crack it open and use the 2 500s inside (WD) to setup the RAID.

Didn't the Dell website have a crazy deal on these a while back, like $65 or something?

Yup, and with tax on that $170, you paid more AND had to freeze for hours waiting for best buy to open.

$170 was out the door, and I only waited for an hour. Well worth it.

$200 isn't a bad price, but that thing is huge compared to what I got.

in case anyone's interested, another no-name 1tb drive (i say no-name because the drive manufacturer isn't making the enclosure as well)...via ben's bargains

$250 - $50 (code EMCADAHAF) - $20MIR + $8 S/H = $188

Was $218.49 - $10 coupon code - 10% off coupon code = $186.64, free shipping. The drive inside the enclosure is one of these:

Always search the net for coupon codes before buying.

Edit: ^ that has the same drive inside. The drive is quality but I don't know about the enclosure.

his drive was $99 from office max. he got lucky enough to find an idiot csm to let him use the online coupon code and the in store instant rebate. I tried this as well, and failed. I'll go $125 on it
