since im always on the search for more shit to read on my BB,
post here if you come across mobile sites for regular sites that are especially well done or provide a lot of good content for killing time in airports or whatever, only formatted in mobile web versions, not regular sites 3/3/2008 11:53:29 AM |

decent idea - although i imagine you could google a better list....
this largely depends on how your device/browser is interpreted
most major sports/news/tech websites have mobile alternatives that automatically show up based on device/browser detection - cnn.com / espn.com / engadget.com / etc...
it's already starting for PDA/smart phones and will continue as speed/memory isn't as much of an issue - mobile versions will be used a lot less
i mostly try to avoid the stripped down mobile versions unless it's over 2mb per page 3/3/2008 1:23:31 PM |

maybe im googling wrong
but i typed in a couple different similar search strings to "best of the mobile web"
and came up with stuff about mobile web browsers
no content or sites
plus this will be more targeted i think 3/3/2008 2:05:54 PM |

plus, you cant beat the stripped down versions for just plain old information gathering
espn's mobile site is FAR superior to the actual espn.com
even if bandwidth/speed isnt an issue,
espn has one of the worst websites ever
access to info is much more streamlined on the mobile page 3/3/2008 2:07:44 PM |

not really content for wasting time, but the last time I was traveling I used delta and hilton's websites on my BB and they worked real nice. 3/3/2008 2:17:14 PM |

the FAA has a mobile page that gives up to the minute flight delay info as well as phone number links to major carriers
its invaluable
no graphics, just info
