thats quite the database buster, and a source of a lot of spam on the boards. seems to generate there and get tagged on to the end of that super quotebomb that the children post. it seems like thats why there are a few versions of the what music thread and a couple others. i think the policy used to be "lock at 100 pages"

except, of course, EPIC threads like kiljadn's ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US that have been going on their own for over 7 years. that's gotta be the only one of its kind.

it is a very important part of wolf web history. ha ha. plus, its only had 50 pages of posts or so in 7 years... so its not a padding haven aka direct waste of resources aka throwing money in the trash.

yeah thats a good one too... whatever you wanna do with it. there would be less load either way, and deleting it may discourage future acts of super padding. it might make them realize something once they get mad about it "HEY, I SPENT 2 YEARS WORTH OF NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS MAKING.... oh shit, man"

yes, my original "post your favorite picture from the gallery above" was deleted after 100 pages even though it was a fairly worthwhile thread that people enjoyed to use (an by people i mean more than one person and his aliases). i just have no idea why this thread remains when it flies in the face of numerous posting guidelines.

I think marko said the code/db/whatever has been adjusted to accommodate 100+ page threads, which is why the latest "What are you thinking?" hasn't been locked.

The post count drop would be great though.

IIRC when stingers post padding thread got deleted, he drastically went down.

there are 2 options available - delete thread and move thread to trash bin - i believe delete moves it to the trash bin and subtracts from the post count whereas move thread just moves it and doesn't mess with the post count

EUPHALO serves a purpose other than padding. It's like a containment chamber and giant, disorganized database for stupid and random shit. It's a place to post stuff that is made/found that might be worth posting, but that doesn't belong anywhere else and is certainly not thread-worthy. If it didn't exist, tons of junk would be flying all over the rest of chit chat... more so than normal, anyway.

That said, it's not serving that purpose given what RD and a couple others have been doing lately. RD has taken shit way off course by spamming/bombing other unrelated threads with EUPHALO stuff, which should be contained only to EUPHALO and EUPHALO-related threads.

Im curious....why does everyone care about that thread? I dont see it bothering anyone.

I think the mods stance on it is that they dont care if we pad there but they do care if we bring that bullshit into other threads.

We cant double post (even tho it sometimes happens), and quite a few people who have violated those rules have been suspended.

Why are there exceptions for threads over 100 pages like the one jackleg mentioned and the what are you thinking about thread.....but not for one that is equally as pointless?

Ive watched the traffic on this site recently and I dont know if anyone has noticed but the threads that supposed "team euphalo" posts in are the only threads that really move. Heck, even the threads AGAINST the thread and team are moving.

The wolf web is dead, its nothing like it was, crazyj doesnt even own it anymore.

If we keep our fun to on thread whats the big deal?
