I don't know if this will actually work or not, but it looks like you can submit a claim to have all the money paid for Airborne from 2001 until 2007 to be refunded. If you have proof of purchases you can get full refunds for everything, but if not you can still submit a claim that you bought 6 packs of the $10.50 Seasonal Airborne.

I've easily spend way more than $63 on the stuff over the years. I don't feel bad at all fibbing to get the maximum amount back.

Yeah, you just fill out the form and then say you don't have one at the end. I don't know what they would do if you put more than 6 items though.

If you put one tab in about .5 oz of water in a bottle and don't let the fizz escape, it actually tastes pretty damn good.

But yeah, 1 tab in a full bottle makes it taste pretty rotten.

I'm pretty sure McDonalds didn't make illegitimate claims about their coffee. No one went around saying "this coffee surely wont burn you."

they claimed it would "cure" or "prevent" colds, and/or that it would make you immune to colds as early as 1 hour after you take it...it's really just a compound of vitamins, i think

i suspect it works in the same way zinc/vitC/echinacea lozenges work...maybe if you take it in time, it bolsters your immune system, but that's it

Yeah, I almost feel bad about claiming the money. Cause I used to get sick twice a year at a minimum and I haven't been sick in the past 2+ years cause I take the stuff every day(during cold season at least).

But then again when I think that I've been paying $7 for a 10 pack of vitamins that dissolve in water, I don't feel too bad about getting part of my money back.

i've taken the airborne things a few times. i've the correlation that when i do just as i'm starting to feel sick that i haven't gotten sick. i don't know if that means they've actually worked, probably not, but still when i'm starting to feel sick i like feeling like there is something i can do about it... even if its only the placebo effect. so for whats it worth, i wont be asking for my money back.

Do you think that the settlement is for a certain amount of money, and there will be a good number of people that apply? If this happens wont they just split the money up, so everyone gets a small amount like less than a dollar?

^almost any where.

I remember in 2005 I was dating this chick and she tried to convince me to get some of that stuff. When i asked her why on earth she thought it would work her response was that it had to because "it was designed by a teacher." comments like that are a solid part of the reason why we're not together any more.

From the website:

Quote :
"If the total Claims made by Class Members is more than the amount of the balance of the Settlement Fund after the deduction of any award of attorneys’ fees and expenses and any incentive award approved by the Court, the total dollar value of each Class Member’s claim will be reduced proportionately. That is, if the Settlement Fund (after deduction of attorneys’ fees and other expenses) is $18 Million and the claims total $20 Million, then each class member’s claim will be reduced by 10% (because, in this example, $18 Million is 10% less than $20 Million."

^thats what ive been wondering also.

it also mentions its made from herbal stuff,

what is the lawsuit against? because to me it looks as if airborne has some outs. but i guess not.

i thought disclaimers were valid

Quote :
"First, he says, Airbone entered the market claiming that its formula — a result of research by second-grade teacher Victoria Knight-McDowell — could ward off colds. Airborne later backed off, reworking its campaign to say the supplement "boosts your immune system."

The problem, Schardt says, is that Airborne didn't have a single shred of evidence to back up either claim. And that's why Schardt was so passionate about leading a class-action lawsuit against the company.
"

ok well i guess thats a legit claim to file a suit

That reminds me of the Poultry Science idiot student I saw at the State Fair a few years ago. She was trying to argue with some hippies at an anti-genetically modified food booth that there is nothing wrong with the stuff. When the hippie asked her what proof she has she replied, "Well my professor said so."

Imagine what the world would be like if it operated solely on what professors said
