on my 1.25GHz G4 Mac Mini I used Camino for a couple reasons 1) Safari was still 1.x and lacked many basic features 2) FireFox 1 and 2 on a G4 are ridiculously slow 3) It's somewhat expandable 4) On my G4, it was the fastest, or at least the 'snappiest'. The interface was very quick and responsive
on my new 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro, I use Safari 3. On the MPB, FireFox 2 runs fast enough, but the Mac interface is still kind of kludgy. Safari is very fast and has enough features and plug-ins, although there are still some FireFox plugins I miss. When FireFox 3 comes out with a native Mac UI, I will consider going to it. But on a newer, fast Mac, I don't think Camino is necessary any more - just use Safari or FF. 3/6/2008 3:08:50 PM |
