I was searching through threads for some ideas on converting a powerpoint presentation to something that could be burned to a DVD. A old thread said to export the powerpoint (to a video file?) then use a DVD burning software (check!)... but I'm not finding any export on my PPT 2002. (/message_topic.aspx?topic=462176)
Also, when googling "convert powerpoint to DVD" Office 2007 comes up in sponsored results with a description along the lines of converting ppt to MPEG (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22convert+powerpoint+to+video%22&btnG=Google+Search)... does 2007 really have this capability?

why do you think it can't just be burned to a CD as is? 3/14/2008 6:35:18 PM |

There are two ways to do this ... hook up your video out feed to a VCR or some other video recording device ... or do a screencast, in which case your computer saves a video file of your screen. The screencast is your best option here, because you can just take that video file into your DVD burning software and burn a Video DVD.
There are two good and free options:
Taksi http://taksi.sourceforge.net/
CamStudio http://camstudio.org/
I'm going to assume you can figure out the software and not explain them ... but if you can't, no biggie, let me know. 3/15/2008 10:15:43 AM |

I have a program called Camtasia that will record a powerpoint presentation, and output that to .wmv or .avi...then you can use some dvd software to convert/burn to dvd. 3/15/2008 1:21:12 PM |
