yes, the statistics in my wing were:

~15 white people: 100% were wearing at least one green thing. and there werent even any "green stripes" type people who forgot and were bullshitting
3 black people: 0% green, 100% black
1 other: 0% green, 100% brown

also the women were wearing a lot more green. i think about half the white women were wearing 100% green (not counting shoes)

i really wanted to ask one of the black people. but i tend to offend people so i like asking on tww.

yeah why would they not? i've always seen it as a "fun day" -- i mean, it has no religious or cultural meaning to me or whatever and i still "celebrate" it

just wondering why black folks didn't seem to care for it

I didn't wear green today.

And if anybody had pinched me I would have socked them in the nose and told them "My people didn't come to this country just so I could get pinched by some English prick."

it seems my race has not shown proper enthusiasm for your holiday that most likely has no relevance to them.

we as a whole have shunned you white people. and irish is the whitest of the white.

shunnnnn.

im not celebrating to get drunk. i dont even have any alcohol in the house besides maybe one glass of wine.

in other words, i only celebrated to the extent that i wore green. it just seemed really weird. like all the white people looked like they were in a gang.

you live in KKK town.... aka Gborro

im sure the blacks are still upset about the lynchings that were occuring in the 60's...and murders in the 70's.

haha yeah right. i know youre just being dumb but i'll still respond.

there has been a scandal lately about that whole communist party thing in the 70s and the documents being destroyed.

i know the destroyed documents dont back this up, but greensboro (as a city) goes out of its way to preserve its part in the civil rights movement and all that.

^ i have a redneck friend and he assures me that the KKK is still very much active in the borro. He had a grandfather back in the 70's participate in one of the murders that occured.....that famous one. I forget what they called it. Im sure you could google it.

Greensboro is famous for the first lunch counter sit-in and The Greensboro Massacre.

It's the yin and yang of G-Boro.

Without one there cannot be the other.

(you're both right)
