I don't know anything about Trillian or Yahoo Messenger but could you download Trillian, log in, then log out? 3/17/2008 7:44:35 PM |

the problem is the computer at work is going to constantly try to keep logging in everytime you log it off..

wait i can log onto aim through trillian on as many computers as i want. Like i can have trillian logged in on my desktop and laptop at the same time. Isn't that how aim clients work?
-just realized you said yahoo, i guess the protocol is different. Aim must allow multiple connections whereas yahoo doesn't.

who uses yahoo IM? Only my parents and old ppl use them. I use AIM mainly, but use MSN for work. 3/18/2008 12:57:48 AM |

I find it to be the opposite. Old people and NC State people love AIM. Everyone I know (outside of NC) under 50 uses Yahoo, all my friends from college in Knoxville use yahoo. I didnt really know anyone that used AIM until I moved to Raleigh... I wonder if its a carry over from a lot of people around Raleigh having aol back in the day or something 3/18/2008 2:21:24 PM |

I don't know anyone who uses MSN. I'd say as far as AIM/Yahoo/Google Talk/MySpaceIM the % of my friends that use them are 80/10/5/5 3/18/2008 4:58:08 PM |

surprised AIM wasnt higher, everyone used to have it, I just dont many people that kept it once yahoo got up to speed. I really hate AIM, the interface sucks, hate the functions etc. Yahoo just seems a lot "cleaner" to me, looks so much better 3/18/2008 6:50:54 PM |

^ i think it's more about the program you use, to use the protocol. I don't know too many people who actually use the official aim client. More people use the aim protocol, so that's the one i use, but in terms of GUI and usability nowadays you can get a variety of programs that will run any instant messaging protocol you want. Like trillian for example will run aim and yahoo at the same time, and the interface is the same. 3/18/2008 6:55:23 PM |

ICQ, I remember when that was huge with online gaming back in the day. Now I've switched over to xfire. Sometimes still use ICQ for chat rooms with gaming clans and such, but very rarely. 3/19/2008 1:42:45 AM |
