Ok, so bear with me because im not too tech savvy
I have a component video selector switch to run my Wii and Xbox360 into. The output is connected to an HDTV. When the Wii or the 360 is connected directly to the TV I have no problems at all, however, when I run it through the switch box i encounter some problems.
It seems that when there is a part in the game where the screen is white (i.e. on the wii before a game when it has the white caution screen about the remote strap) the video beings to mess up and gets really blotchy..however when it gets past that it works fine. The same goes for the 360, when a game is starting and there is the xbox 360 logo with the completely white background, the video goes bad...but gets back to normal when you start the game.
Any idea what this is caused by? I've tried two different sets of component cables to run from the switch box to the tv and the problem persisted. I usually would say the box must be defective but it doesn't make sense why it would only fuck up only when the screen is white or light.
Thanks for your help 4/5/2008 1:09:04 AM |

it's syncing the signal right when you turn the system on, or switch into a new video mode (aka going from Dashboard to game) so the video will look weird for a few seconds. Pretty normal. Unless you get a super retardo expensive switch, they will all do that to some degree 4/5/2008 1:43:31 PM |
