First and foremost never buy Tein products.
Second, does anyone have a tein adjustment wrench. I need to adjust this shit so it doesnt look like a 4x4.
Thanks,

Dude I don't buy anything new.
Obviously this was the drawback of the "Deal". 4/6/2008 11:31:06 PM |

my friend had the same problem--used Tein's with no adjusters. It took him forever to get the adjuster tools. Phantasm eventually got it for him on backorder. 4/7/2008 2:38:07 AM |

I bought TEIN coilovers and loved them! Why would you not want to buy TEIN 4/7/2008 7:11:39 AM |

the few i've installed seemed to be quality pieces also. i've never heard any real legit complaints from anyone else either.
maybe this is just a case of installer frustration? 4/7/2008 7:25:22 AM |

lol. that will actually work fine, but just so he knows gouging the aluminum (i assume) adjusters is almost certain. you can use a rag to help, but there's still a chance.
your best tool if you don't want to wait is going to be a strap wrench. i've got one if you want to try it, or you can get them cheap at any tool place. i use mine all the time for spinning on/off threaded chrome/brass/stainless plumbing pieces that don't have provisions for a tool and the finish can't be damaged.
i've also seen co adjusters turn easily enough by hand with some tension relieved by jacking it up and/or prying down a bit on the spring with a crowbar, spring clamp, or something.

100% correct.
I didn't really know what I was doing. On first installation my shit only dropped 3/4 of an inch. If i wanted that kind of drop, I would have let air out of the tires!
I think I figured it out now though. It sits pretty good. DonkeyButt is going to give me the adjusters so I can actually adjust the upper spring rest (where the spring sits , you guys can be technical and call it by a legitimate name if you want).
I will reserve the right to claim they suck until i get the car off the jacks. Until then : Tein Sucks!
^ Good Idea on the strap wrench, I didn't think of that.

adjust the lower mounting bracket (or whatever it's called) upwards to get good shock travel. don't just make it "look" like the OEM assembled strut/shock 4/7/2008 9:34:30 AM |
