Starbucks giving away free coffee Tuesday
Starbucks Corp. is introducing a new coffee Tuesday and will give away cups of its new Pike Place Roast brew beginning at 9 a.m.
The new coffee is named after the location of Starbucks' first store, which opened in Seattle's Pike Place Market in 1971.
According to Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, the new brew was created after the Seattle coffee giant (Nasdaq: SBUX) received input from 1,000 customers. He added that Pike Place Roast will be the chain's first coffee bearing a mark that the coffee is purchased "ethically" from sources.
Starbucks has dozens of Triangle locations. 4/7/2008 8:57:47 PM |

OK... everywhere is a stretch, but there are plenty coffee shops in this town with a decent brew. But good coffee, in comparison to good espresso, is practically ubiquitous. 4/8/2008 11:35:48 AM |

So those 1000 customers wanted a folgers type of coffee instead of whatever starbucks brews everyday.

I'm still boycotting until they bring back free (to customers) wireless. Caribou and Third Place will continue to get all of my business. 4/8/2008 12:21:39 PM |

when did they have free wireless?
whenever their contract with t-mobile expires, they're moving to 2 hrs free wireless everyday.
you have to have a free registered starbucks giftcard to be eligible.

$5 a day or whatever it costs to add it to your cell phone plan.

I'll kindly take my business elsewhere and I won't go back to Starbucks even if they do bring back free wireless. This is just another attempt at a company screwing its customers in an effort to make more money (with T-Mobile). It reminds me of the commercials I have to sit through in movie theatres after I just paid $argentina. </>rant4/8/2008 2:04:14 PM |

I went with some co-workers today who were going. Noticed the new brew and decided to try it out.
Still tastes burnt compared with other coffees, but better than the office swill.
