Quote :
"SEATTLE (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp said on Wednesday that any definitive agreement between Yahoo Inc and Google Inc would make the market for Web search less competitive.

In a statement, Microsoft General Counsel Brad Smith said Yahoo and Google would consolidate over 90 percent of the search advertising market in Google's hands. Smith added that Microsoft was assessing all of its options.

His comments responded to Yahoo's announcement earlier on Wednesday that it will carry Web search advertising from Google in a test. Yahoo has rejected Microsoft's unsolicited offer to buy it as insufficient and has been seeking alternatives to a Microsoft takeover.

And Howard Dean just pronounced John McCain isn't a strong candidate.

News Corp. May Join Yahoo Bid With Microsoft

Quote :
"Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation is in talks with Microsoft about joining in its contested bid for Yahoo, according to people involved in the discussions. The combination, which would join Yahoo, Microsoft's MSN and News Corporation's MySpace, would create a behemoth that would upend the Internet landscape.

The talks are a surprising twist in the two-month-long takeover story that began when Microsoft made a $44.6 billion bid for Yahoo."

And the plot thickens.

this is basically Google helping out Yahoo because Yahoo doesn't want to sell its soul

there is a lot of good blood between the leadership of Yahoo and Google founders

Yahoo is a lot stronger in some other countries.

Google has dropped the ball in some of those same places.
