I'm working on a project where I want to use python to retrieve and write data to a database. I don't know how to do this currently. Do any of you know of a good reference or do you have any pointers if you've do this or something similar yourself?

I'm also looking for pointers on using python to parse specific data or strings of a html page. I'm fairly new to python and complete new to web-databases.

Anyways, you probably won't find full PDF's of training materials anywhere. If this is for work tell them to send you to a class.

^^ Thanks for that. I was looking for some more targeted results.

^ It's for a personal project. I'm just looking for a good reference. Something with examples is always nice. I can figure it all out myself eventually, but I'm looking to save some time.

Then ask a more targeted question.

Or better yet, try a more targeted Google query. There are a shit ton of Python/MySQL tutorials out there; and you'll get a lot further with them than you will by making a thread that just says "I don't know know how to use MySQL with Python. Help."

i think it's funny when people take the time to create a link to a google search for them

around 20-30 seconds of life wasted just doing that, and on top of that, they've probably spent another min or 2 reading your original questions, they probably coud've posted a decent answer and learned a thing or 2 themselves.

i've posted somewhat trivial questions b4 too hoping to get an expert or 2's opinion, instead of wasting hours going down dead ends on the google.. but i think it's just a requisite for a twwer to make a google link, it's like a habit for Ernie, so don't mind him.

on the other hand, if you really didn't try using google. yeh, you must have a mental disability
