From the little I have heard about these beers, they are making them for two reasons:

1. Trying to grab a chunk of the ever increasing drunk illegal immigrant market

2. Hops shortage. If beer has little/no hops it takes like shit, the lime flavor masks/replaces the hops in these beers making it palatable. So to save on money they are replacing hops with lime.
