Is there some kind of program which can be used to unlock password protected excel files? There are several files at work which need to have some minor changes done to them and the individual who created the files originally now no longer works at the organization and we no longer have his contact information. Thanks for the help!

you're gonna have to use a program of some sort. and you're probably going have to pay something for it if you wanna see more than the first few letters. if you find a free one let me know plz.] 4/18/2008 11:30:46 AM |

Use the PASSWARE tools... If your looking for a copy of the full suite of app's look to the usenet servers.

What version of excel was this created with? If you want me to crack it, send me a PM and we can arrange something.

If its been created with Excel 2007, your pretty much screwed... Uses very heavy encryption. ;-( 4/18/2008 2:37:32 PM |

I would doubt it was made in 2007 if enough time has passed for the guy to be no longer working there and you don't have his contact info
Just my opinion
but yea, try the shit people have already posted--duh 4/18/2008 2:49:58 PM |
