I disagree here. First of all McCain can't make the decisions for the NCGOP (which the NCGOP has denied his request to take the ad down).

All the ad is is the same youtube videos that's been all over the MSM. Even still, it's a legitimate topic for discussion as we choose the democratic nominee.

I think McCain fears the GOP will be viewed as race baiting.

Bev Perdue here...just standing very closely to some of my many Black friends.

Although there is a substantial Democrat population in this state, many of them are conservative "Southern Democrats" who are registered and can vote for Obama. Especially on issues that are near and dear to the democratic party, if you aren't with them then you're "an idiot". The reverse is rarely true when it comes to Republicans. In any event, the NC GOP has a responsibility to its down-ticket candidates. Obviously, the NC GOP believes it can help Republican candidates and negatively affect Moore and Perdue--both of whom have endorsed Obama--by associating them with Obama, his left-wing positions, and the pastor disaster.

John McCain, on the other hand, gets to play both sides of the street by condemning the ad and seeming to be above it all--the only real kink in that line is Obama called his bluff. Obama came out and said that McCain should have the power to force the NC GOP to stop running the ad. So if the NC GOP doesn't stop running the ad, some might interpret that as weakness, disorganization, or something along those lines on McCain's part.

Concerning the ad, frankly, I don't see a problem. Both Perdue and Moore have endorsed Obama, and if Obama's comments, positions, and associations are being called into question, then the endorsements are fair game.

It makes it seem like there's not much good to say about the GOP candidates if their first big ad out is simply one that makes no mention of GOP platform whatsoever.
