so I am trying to set up a mailto: link with a predefined subject line and body text.
"mailto:?subject=This is my subject line&body=This is my body text."
what is wrong with that code? I can get the subject line to appear pretty consistently, but the body text is flaky about showing up. Works in Notes, but not in gmail or outlook that I can tell.
Any help? 4/25/2008 11:06:39 AM

I don't believe so. The address is going to be filled in anyway by the user, so that code just spawns an email with no name in the "to" field. 4/25/2008 11:11:17 AM

works in outlook for me.
on your PC you can't set Gmail as your default mail app. You have to use a FF extension or something like that to get a mailto link to open up in gmail 4/25/2008 11:32:34 AM

Thanks for the help. I think I have the problem solved, but who knows. Not having outlook to test on is such a pain in the ass. Thanks IBM!! 4/25/2008 11:34:01 AM
