little light beige formation things from the back of your throat? they're somewhat firm (not like a lugee or anything), yet soft (you can mash them) and they smell like really bad breath. it's hard to describe them. the first time i coughed one up it was smaller and looked like a piece of chipped off tooth, but then i squished it between my fingers and found that it was not. i can't feel them when i'm just sitting around, but sometimes i'll cough and one will dislodge and fly up into my mouth. it's pretty fucking weird.

i can't be the only one who experiences this. what do you have to say about it tww?

I get those if I scream or yell or attempt to metal growl/yell or really do anything not normal for my voice. I always thought they were little pieces of food stuck down my throat. Bad oral hygeine would probably not be the cause. Brush 2x a day, floss once and mouthwash once. There aint more to do than that.

it's mucous/food collecting around your tonsils. they're fairly normal, and don't pose a serious health risk, other than some really bad breath.

removing your tonsils will take care of the problem, but that would only be for extreme cases or if you have other problems with your tonsils. they make products targets at breaking them up and preventing them from forming. check http://www.dentist.net/therabreath.asp for the "tonsil stone" kit

Yeah, I'll get the occasionally . . . I call it mouth boogers.

I have no clue where it comes from and probably get one every year or so. They're fucking gold when your friends are around, no-one believes something that small could smell so horrific.

yeah, they are tonsiliths. they aren't too fun. I used to get them about once every month or so, but then i started rinsing my mouth out before i went to bed at night and they're gone. Actually, to be more specific i started using a nonalcoholic mouth wash because it doesn't have sugars in it. the sugars otherwise sit in your mouth at night when its the most try and help aid in collecting bacteria, which is what, in turn, forms those tonsiliths.

I just always assumed they were chunks of food. Also, you have aids.

I get them about once a month or so. But mine are usually white, not a beige color. I wouldnt know what they smell like because I always eat mine, and yes, they taste terrible, but its a good terrible.

I have found this has improved my oral hygiene significantly, in combination with the above.

i used to get them pretty often a few years ago but haven't had one for some time now. if they got big i could actually feel them on my tonsils. i would pick them out with a pen. i hated them.

Yet I ran out of floss sticks so now Im going downhill. Must buy more of those.

Also. Anyone else occasionally forget how to spell very simple words? I forgot how to spell buy for about 3 seconds. Wanted to do by or bye. Did that with "loud" last week. Wanted to do lode or load. Am I very slowly going retarded?

^my right tonsil burst in late 2003, it was quite painful. shockingly in about march of 2004 it started growing back. it wasn't until after this situation that i started getting tonsiliths.

at first i thought i was big balla cause my tonsils could grow back, but apparently its quite normal.

yepper, i've had them

now, if someone can tell me why, when i drink "regular" tea (not green or herbal, but just normal iced tea) or soda without eating anything with it, it burns when i pee until i drink 24+ ounces of water, i'll be happy

too much sodium? it's not cancer and it's not an STD

i didn't even know mine were gone until i went to the doctor with a throat infection and he asked "how long has it been since your tonsils were removed?"....

i gave him a blank stare and said "ummm....they weren't?"

he asked me if i was sure about that....and yeah...i was pretty confident I would have remembered that little tidbit...

it turned out to be strep and i've had strep throat twice since then and i had never had it before in my life

I used to get these, I haven't spit one out in a long time. I remember seeing them usually in the morning during a hot shower, always assumed it was some kind of phlegm and that the shower was freeing it up. Glad I haven't had one in a while.

AND TO THE DUDE THAT SAYS HE EATS HIS, SERIOUSLY DO YOU HAVE TO POST EVERY DISGUSTING THOUGHT THAT POPS IN YOUR HEAD. I'D RATHER SEE GOATSE

phlegm? Thats what I always called it. I would get them really bad last year when I had an upper respiratory infection. They were GROSS. It's awkward when you laugh and they fly out of your mouth in a social setting, too.

seriously...dont inhale it though...but canned air is seriously the best solution to this....it literally takes 5 seconds to get them all out

please don't do this

one could end up going down your trachea and lodge itself in (most likely) your right lung and give you a pretty bad pneumonia.

a waterpik has been suggested as a useful removal tool

if that shit goes in my throat i hock it up..but most actually shoot out the mouth cause the force of the canned air in a tight space causes it to go out the mouth
